Backfill-Against-Basement-Walls_for-Stehr-House-in-Highland-Twp-Michigan
Dec-04-2006 Update
from our portfolio of Recent Projects

Our Recent-Projects Include New Construction As-Well-As Addition and Renovation of House, Commercial, Condo, Light-Industrial, Multi-Family Buildings, ...

We started the backfilling operation today. Concrete placement in Basement Walls was discussed in our update of Oct-06-2006. Basement slab concrete was placed on Sep-29-2006.

The Stehr House is on a hilly terrain. The west side of the house is at the bottom of the hill -- so the entire frontage on the West side is a walk-out. On the East side of the house the backfill is placed for the full height of the basement. On the North side the backfill will be place from the Basement Level on the West side to the First Floor Level to the East side. On the South side, the Garage entry is the First floor level.

On the North-East side in particular, and also on the East side, we have sand -- good backfill material for our Insulating Concrete Form walls. We will also have a lot of fill going in on building up the Driveway for entry into the Garage, and we will also be filling up the area near the Well for the house.

From some pictures I took, you will notice that Dan and Charlie made good progress today.

Visiting with us today are Dave to the extreme left, and Tiffany in the middle from the neighboring Tree Farm just West of the Stehr House, to discuss with Gary Stehr felling of the trees near the Well area and then cutting and hauling them away.
