The crew worked late into the evening yesterday, Oct-05-2006 to get the Basement ICF Walls for Stehr House in Highland Twp Michigan
ready for concrete placement today Oct-06-2006 morning

It started out to be a great day. No rain, the pump arrived in time at 9:00 AM, the first concrete truck from Milford Redi-Mix arrived at 9:30 AM, and the concrete placement process began smoothly. When you have a great crew with exemplary leadership of Dave Dotson, and Matt Lincoln, every thing is well planned and thought out and that results in smooth sailing and no unwanted surprises.

We did have a minor hickup -- after the second concrete truck arrived, Milford Concrete had lost power. However, they arranged with Fenton Concrete to send us the next truck of concrete-mix with pea-gravel. And the final truck with another 7.5 cubic yards of concrete came again from Milford Concrete. We thank Derrick of Brisky Bros. Construction Inc -- supplier of the pump, for being so patient and accommodating in this situation. It was good team work at play -- there was no panic and no short nerves. Our need for 37.5 cubic yds of pea-gravel mix concrete placed with a boom pump for some 2850 square feet of wall area was satisfactorily met.

You will see from some pictures that I took, Dave Dotson, Matt Licoln, and crew -- Darrell, Dave, Nate, and Zack did a great job today. We are now shooting for setting up steel posts and beams in the basement on Monday, Oct-09-2006, and then following it up with the erection of open-web steel joists and metal deck for the First Floor concrete slab.
