In my Feb-27-2007 post on Light-Gage-Metal-Framing-for-Select-Appurtenances_Building-in-Rochester-Michigan , we talked about framing for the oyster.

In this post, we are going to discuss the framing for the ring -- this is a circular platform that is going to be hung from the joists above. The ring is not only an aesthetically appealing appurtenance, it is also functional in the sense that it will provide for manual access to several service hatches.

The framing for the ring is going to be shop fabricated at Bob Martin's Steel Studs and Joists Inc of Port Huron Michigan and will be field assembled and installed in the field.

The underside and the sides of the ring will be drywalled -- the drywall work will be done under the supervision of Mike, John, and Joe of Modern Drywall.

So, let us look at some pictures of the ring. I wish the pictures would have been a bit sharper to do justice to the appurtenances which are already in place around which the ring frame would be installed.
