Project ImpN1-102
from our portfolio of Recent Projects

Our Recent-Projects Include New Construction As-Well-As Addition and Renovation of House, Commercial, Condo, Light-Industrial, Multi-Family Buildings, ...

In my post Condo-Renovation_Structural-Integrity-Evaluation-Of-Cut-Trusses, I talked about installing the inverted pan effect in the ceiling of the Master BedRoom as part of the renovation of the condominium.

In the process of modification work, the contractor had to cut 9 trusses to create desired effect in the ceiling.

You will notice in Picture 1 that the official from the Building Department issued a Stop-Work-Order and required that the structural integrity of the cut trusses be evaluated and a building permit be pulled before any further work is done on the project.

In Picture 2, I have presented the result of field inspection and evaluation of the cut trusses and the recommended fixes that need to be implemented to ensure the structural integrity of the trusses in the new configuration.

Ned Impastato, the contractor for the renovation work was planning on submitting the drawing in Picture 2 and related paperwork to the Building Department on Jun-22-2007 so that the renovation work can be resumed on receipt of the building permit. Hopefully the renovation work can get back on track soon.
