The house is an energy efficient ICF house being built by Ken Trever of Energy Efficient Healthy Home Construction.

The house has concrete footings with Form-A-Drain on both inside and outside for the basement walls. The Garage walls have a trench footing. The wall footings were installed by Dave Dotson of Steel Beam Inc.

The walls are PolySteel ICF block of 11" overall thickness with 6" cavity.

The ICF wall construction is also by Dave Dotson. As of Feb-09-2007, the basement walls and the Garage ICF walls are up.

The original house plans were for stick-wall construction. Mike Tozer of hmTozerDESIGN L.L.C. had also worked on the house drawings. The Northfield Township Building Official had some questions regarding the changes to the house, and the adequacy of the wall footings for part of the house with two storys over the basement.

I have conducted a field inspection to check the adequacy of the foundation and the status of construction. Today, I submitted a new set of sealed drawings to the Building Department. I will be in touch with the Building Department to facilitate resolution of any outstanding concerns.
