For this new home project in Ann Arbor Michigan on a sloping terrain, we designed the foundation system with a serieds of grid beams. The slab on top of the beam forms the basement slab, and then cast-in-place concrete (poured concrete) walls.

The concrete in the grade beams was place on May-06-2006 as described in New Home Project in Ann Arbor Michigan ANAND Enterprises Project GemH1-101 ... May-06-2006 Update.

The concrete for the basement slab was placed on May-22-2006 as described in Basement Slab ANAND Enterprises Project GemH1-101 ... May-22-2006 Update.

I inspected the project site for concrete placement readiness for basement walls on Saturday May-27-2006. Most of the formwork and the reiforcing steel for the walls had been installed -- and the rest of it the contractor would complete before the concrete placement. It has been raining intermittently. Concrete placement has been planned for Tuesday May-30-2006 after the Memorial Day Holiday on May-29-2006.
