This project required certifying that this manufactured home located at 9858 Webb Road in Wales Michigan has a permanent foundation. I received this request from Sue Hook of the lending mortgage banker Bretlin Home Mortgage.

I conducted a field visit to the house where I met the selling realtor Bob Kean, the buyers Stacy and Brad Malone, and the realtor for the borrower Julie Stolicker.

This manufactured home is 2868 Cambridge Class ED 120A Model 1994. It is nominally 22 ft x 55 ft has a full basement underneath. The house is founded on peripheral block masonry walls and a set of center pipe columns with isolated footings. From my walk-down inspection of the exterior of the house, I did not see any leaning or misalignment, nor did I see any disturbing cracks in the foundation. My walkdown inspection of the house also revealed no structural integrity issues, except for some cracks in the South Wall in the basement and some shrinkage cracks in the basement floor slab. The basement was dry. The house has a wood deck on the back that does not adversely impact the structural integrity of the foundation. The foundation of the house is structurally sound.

On the front and the back of the facility, I saw a 4"x 2" metal plate -- a view of the plate is depicted in my picture slides of the house. It is my belief that the plates have the label number and the manufacturer's certification inscribed on it. I did not find any other tags/labels.

Based on my inspection of the existing foundation, my practical experience, and my engineering judgment, I believe that the foundation of the manufactured home is structurally sound and complies with the requirements of HUDs 'Permanent Foundation Guide For Manufactured Housing -- Septmber 1996'.
