New-House-With-ICF-Basement-Walls-Structural-Design
After meetings and discussions with the home-owner, I document herein structural member sizes based on the
updated drawings as of February 2008 with the following information
It is my understanding that the Architectural drawings were initially prepared for an all ICF House -- meaning that the superstructure walls were also going to be of ICF construction. However, the updated plans call for only basement walls to be of ICF construction and the superstructure walls will be of stick wall construction.
- the updated / revised Floor Layouts
- the Floor System -- wood decking over wood joists
- the Roof System -- premanufactured roof trusses
- Roof Configuration -- pitched with shingles
- Exterior Wall Covering -- conventional brick veneer
The structural design information provided herein is based on the Project Drawings supplied by the home-owner.
The information provided is to be reviewed with the Project Architect/Engineer (Professional of Record)
and is to be incorporated into the Project Drawings as appropriate.
In the following, I present structural arrangement floor plans, and structural member sizes. I will keep you posted with the progress on the project.
